Other Worthy Recipes

Because this site is dedicated to recipes and photos of my direct family history I will post other recipes on this separately linked page. That way there is no confusion.

This recipe is one I received when I lived in San Diego more than 15 years ago. A co-worker at the Union Tribune’s wife used to make these and they were divine! Just thinking about them makes me want to bake them this minute!

Chocolate Kisses Cookies

1 3/4 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C white sugar
1/2 C brown sugar
1/2 C shortening
1/2 C peanut butter
1 egg
2 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
chocolate kisses

Cream butter, sugars, egg, milk and vanilla together. Add peanut butter and mix. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt, continue mixing well.

Make the cookies into round balls and roll them in sugar. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges; remove from oven and press chocolate kisses in the middle of each cookie until edges crack. Cool and remove from cookie sheet. You will LOVE these and will want to make them again and again!
